Newcastle seal deadline day additions of Andy Carroll and Emil Krafth

Premier League outfit Newcastle United have today confirmed the signings of both Andy Carroll and Emil Krafth.

Newcastle’s big-name exits

It’s been a summer of change at St. James’ Park.

On the back of Rafael Benitez’s abrupt departure from the Mapgies’ bench at the end of June, a pair of star performers from last season, in the form of Ayoze Perez and Mohamed Diame, both also secured moves away from Tyneside.

Additionally, Salomon Rondon’s loan from West Bromwich Albion was not made permanent, with the powerful hitman having since joined Benitez in China with Dalian Yifang.

As such, it came as little surprise to see the Newcastle faithful once again express their intense frustrations with club owner Mike Ashley.

Deadline day action

The last couple of weeks, though, have seen Ashley move to appease his side’s loyal fanbase.

First off, gifted Brazilian striker Joelinton made the move to St. James’ from Hoffenheim, in a club-record deal.

This was followed by explosive wide-man Allan Saint-Maximin joining the Geordie outfit from Nice, and defender Jetro Williams linking up with Steve Bruce’s men on a season-long loan.

And, in a hectic final day to the transfer window for Newcastle, another pair of arrivals have also been confirmed.

First off, Swedish international right-back Emil Krafth’s move from French outfit Amiens was made official, for a fee believed to be in the region of £5 million:

And, just hours later, a deal which will no doubt have resonated deeply with Magpies’ supporters across the globe was also made official.

On the back of a disappointing, injury-ravaged stint with West Ham United, Andy Carroll has returned to Newcastle, putting pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with his boyhood club:
