Man United vs West Ham
Are West Ham United going to lose again this weekend?
The Hammers are in poor form with three defeats in their last four games.
Those defeats, against Cardiff, Everton and Chelsea, have all been by 2-0 score-lines.
Sitting 11th in the league on 42 points, the Hammers season is effectively over.
Are those results emblematic that their players are already looking towards their holidays?
Man United, however, have even worse form that the Irons.
United have lost four of their last five matches, most recently losing 1-0 at home to Barcelona in the Champions League.
West Ham missing four players
On Thursday Manuel Pellegrini faced the press to preview the Man United game.
The Chilean confirmed that four players are out of the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday:
Long injuries are still out, (Andriy) Yarmolenko and (Carlos) Sanchez could be back in a couple of weeks to work with the squad.
(Andy) Carroll has had surgery, (Samir) Nasri has a calf injury. All the other players are OK.
On Carroll, he’s likely played his last ever match for West Ham as his contract expires this summer.
On Nasri, who is also under contract until the ned of the year, Pellegrini hinted the club may not move to make the deal permanent:
About next season, I don’t know. We knew he was a risk having not played for a year. We will see.
Marko Arnautovic & West Ham’s form
Pellegrini also answered questions on why Marko Arnautovic has gone off the boil, and why the club’s form has dropped:
It’s the exact opposite from the first half of the season. Of course we are reviewing why we can’t get results away from home.
I always demand more from myself and everyone, we want to finish as high as we can. If you ask me, this is a good season.
We have an average six players injured every game, many couldn’t play this season. From that point of view it is not a bad season but we must demand more.
Marko has had bad and good moments this season. With a complete squad I am sure we are going to improve.
